This Morning Outside

by Diane Porter

In the garden at Birdwatching Dot Com

The eastern bluebirds successfully fledged five young from the nest box in the garden. I still offer mealworms, which the parents come for and carry to their fledgelings. Sometimes most of the family assembles on the garden gate to look over the wriggling offerings.

It looks like the parents are already nesting in the birdhouse again, starting a second family. The garden is a nice safe place. I think our best harvest is healthy bluebirds!
