This Morning Outside

After the big rain this morning, White-eyed Vireo came out wet and singing. He's a surprise of a little bird, with that stark white of his eye. He fixes you with that eye, white around a darker center, like our own, and you feel, well, seen.

His song seems all of a surprise, too. Starts with a tsk and ends with a pop. If you want to hear the song, I recorded him a few days ago. Go to http://www.xeno-canto.org/263913 and click the play button.
