This Morning Outside

Just makes me wonder if the White-crowned Sparrow realizes how nicely its brown-and-tan head stripes line up with last summer's stalks.

This sparrow finds a living even in a cold climate in winter, searching for food among spent grasses and forbs. The bird was hatched last summer. By this summer it will have a white crown stripe. If you see it, you can't help but notice!
