This Morning Outsideby Diane PorterOctober 1, 2017 The fall migration of warblers is almost finished in Iowa. But this morning a Black-and-white Warbler still threads its way through the trees. It's elusive. It darts among the branches, snatching at insects to fuel its journey southward. I will not see it again until next spring. Such a poignant ache he stirs in my soul, delight of discovery, brink of loss.
