Ah, Happiness
Meet Jeff Anderson, who moved up this summer to Swarovski 10x42 EL binoculars. A few months later he went straight for the top with the new Swarovski ATM-80 HD spotting scope. He posed (above) with his new optics at the birder's paradise, Bosque del Apache, in Socorro, New Mexico.
It was last July that Jeff got his Swarovski EL binoculars. ("Got them today and I love them!" he emailed us.) In the photo at left he's trying them out at Kachemak Bay, an arm of the Cook Inlet in Alaska, near Homer. In the photo at upper right, he's at Alaska's Big River Lakes. Jeff added quite a few birds to his life list during this Alaska trip, including harlequin duck, black-legged kittiwake, common murre, horned puffin, fork-tailed storm-petrel, boreal chickadee (two right in camp), "Sooty" fox sparrow, and spruce grouse. You can read more about his Bosque del Apache trip on his blog. There's also more about his Alaska trip. Text copyright 2009 Michael and Diane Porter.
