This Morning Outsideby Diane PorterJanuary 16, 2011 As the sun rose, female downy woodpecker was breakfasting at the upside down suet feeder. When male downy woodpecker (with red on his head) arrived, a discussion ensued. Female punctuated her claim with spread wings and tail.
The result of the discussion was that male departed. Female resumed muching the suet. —Diane Porter
