This Morning Outside

At the backyard birdhouse
Birdwatching Dot Com, Fairfield, Iowa

As the sun was setting, some of the baby bluebirds were growing impatient in the birdhouse. Service was appalling, and the house was smaller by the moment.

Dad did come down and feed his restless babies.

Eastern BluebirdsA few minutes later, this baby bluebird flew straight forward out of the birdhouse. And into its new life as a fledgling.

Another baby fledged just as darkness fell. I wonder where they spent the night, and if they were scared.
