Vortex Viper 8x32
Overall Score: 4.37 (0ut of possible 5.0)
Now replaced by the new Vortex Viper HD 8x32.
The HD version looks the same but has a higher quality of glass, which affords even better resolution than the original, which is reviewed here.
A Best Buy! This one is a gem in its price range, with excellent (4.4) optics and ergonomics. Near the top of the chart for quality, it costs less than one third as much the top binoculars.
It's compact and well built. It works well with glasses. It has remarkably close focus, down to 3 feet!
Although the eyepiece-located diopter has only a minimal scale, it does have a lock and is easy to adjust.
Pro: Excellent optical quality and ergonomics; works well with glasses; high quality at very moderate price. Best buy.
Con: We found nothing to fault about this binocular.
